Automation Technician / Purchaser

Camar has a position available assisting our Project Engineering and Process Automation teams. Duties of the Automation Technician/Purchaser include:

  • Strong electrical background, with working knowledge of automation circuits.

  • Proficient AutoCAD skills for developing and maintaining automation electrical schematics

  • Component and instrument selection, purchasing, configuration and calibration

  • Automation project expense tracking

  • Professional communication with suppliers, contractors and clients

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Diligent communications and collaboration with other team members

  • Automation development with keen attention to high performance and thorough testing

  • Extensive QA testing of projects during and after development

  • Field commissioning of automation systems

  • Gather on-site project data as required including plant and equipment measurements, specifications, speeds, capacities, layout, space etc.

  • Disciplines covered will include automation, electrical, and mechanical.

  • Any experience in the following disciplines is an asset:

    • PLC, HMI, and database programming and development

    • Beckhoff TwinCAT structured text and motion

    • Indusoft HMI

    • SQL Server

Applicants must have at least one of the following:

  • Automation experience

  • Industrial electrical experience
